SportsBR Events and Programs
We work with local sports coordinators to find and execute opportunities to create recreational and competitive events and programs for the greater Baton Rouge area as well as athletic travelers.
SportsBR owns and operates the following events and programs in line with this local commitment:
The SportsBR Kids Club is a program designed to decrease barriers for children to participate in fun run events in the area to create a year-round cycle of activity. Our goal in 2018-2019 is to register 500 children in the program. Registration for the program is $20 and includes fun run registration for children 14 and under to the Battlefield Cross Country Festival (September 22), Tiger 10k (December 2) and Mardi Gras Mambo (February 16). Registrants will also be included in registration for the SportsBR Developmental Track Series in the spring of 2019. Registration also includes a t-shirt, club sticker and birthday card mailed to each registrant.
Held annually since 2012, the Battlefield Cross Country Festival presented by the Louisiana Marathon hosts over 50 schools and 1,000 athletes from around Louisiana for a celebration of cross country running every September. The event is held at the Port Hudson State Historic Site, the stage for Civil War siege that also was the longest battle in U.S. history. Click here to visit the Battlefield Cross Country Website.
SportsBR in conjunction with our local sports coordinators, venues and tourism partners host over 50 events in the Baton Rouge area each year. Click here to check out the complete event calendar.
