2017 Board of Directors
Board Chairman / Mickey Guidry has been in the investment industry since 1998. He serves as officer of supervisory jurisdiction for Altus Wealth Management LLC. Mickey has both his undergraduate degree and his MBA from Louisiana State University. He attended LSU on an athletic scholarship and was a 4-year letterman on the football team.
VICE CHAIRMAN / Patrick Mockler serves a president of Mockler Beverage Company, a family-owned beverage distributor. He has worked for the business since 1987. Patrick has a bachelor's degree in international trade and finance from LSU.
SECRETARY/TREASURER / Brian Edwards in a General Manager for Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. Brian is Central native and a 2006 graduate of Louisiana State University A veteran of the restaurant industry, he has worked for Bistro Byronz and Vic's Chophouse and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Restaurant Association - Baton Rouge Chapter.
IMMEDIATE PAST CHAIR / Jeremy is partner in tax services for Faulk & Winkler. Before that, Jeremy worked at SMG-Louisiana Superdome as a staff accountant and as a junior accountant for a Lafayette CPA firm. Jeremy is a graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
BATON ROUGE AREA CHAMBER / Kevin Ainsworth is a partner in the Baton Rouge office and his practice focuses on Government Relations & Legislative Advocacy and Business & Commercial Litigation. Mr. Ainsworth is a 1996 graduate of LSU and earned his law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 2000. He was also a student-athlete at LSU and played on the 1993 National Championship baseball team.
LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY / A former LSU football standout, Verge Ausberry joined the athletics administrative staff in August 2001 as the Associate Athletics Director for Operations and was appointed to the position of Senior Associate Athletics Director in May 2006. He was named Deputy Director of Athletics in January of 2016.
AT-LARGE / Kim Ginn is vice president of marketing for L'Auberge Casino and Hotel in Baton Rouge. She had been senior director of marketing at Pinnacle Entertainment for its original L’Auberge Casino & Hotel location in Louisiana. Prior to that, she spent 12 years as marketing director for the Belle of Baton Rouge.
BR LODGING ASSOCIATION / He represents the Baton Rouge Lodging Association on the baord. Gary is general manager of DoubleTree Baton Rouge. He has been a general manager of hotels for more than a decade. He is a graduate of LSU.
AT-LARGE / John Miller is the division director for the Bayou Division of Coca-Cola UNITED. He graduated from LSU in 1988 with a degree in Finance. John began his career at Coca-Cola in 2002. John serves as a board member at the Better Business Bureau, Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Louisiana Arts & Science Center, Louisiana Sports Foundation and LSU Football Camps.
CITY/PARISH OF EAST BATON ROUGE / Roderic Newton represents the Mayor's Office on the SportsBR board of director. Roderic is the head coach at Greater King David Track Club and is a long-time track & field contact in the community. He also currently serves as the Youth Chairman of USA Track and Field Southern Association.
SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY / Trayvean Scott is the Associate Director of Athletics at Southern University, overseeing institutional compliance for the athletics program. Trayvean is a Southern University graduate and former Men's Basketball student-athlete.
BREC / Mike Walker is broker/owner of Mike Walker & Associates Real Estate. Mr. Walker served on the Baton Rouge Metro Council from 2000-2012 and led the council as Mayor Pro Tempre during his last term. Mike is also a BREC Commissioner and represents BREC on the SportsBR Board of Directors.
AT-LARGE / Otis Washington is a hall of fame football coach whose teams excelled at both the high school and college levels. He led St. Augustine High School of New Orleans to three LHSAA state championships and seven district titles during the 11 seasons Washington coached there. After leaving St. Augustine, Coach Washington moved on to LSU as an assistant coach before leading Southern University as head coach from 1981 to 1986.
AT-LARGE / Cade was born and raised in Houma, LA, graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Cade has over 17 years of experience in the radio industry and currently serves as Program Director for 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge and Interim Operations Manager for Guaranty Media. Cade and his wife Candace, while both from southeast Louisiana, love to call Baton Rouge home.
